Friday, May 4, 2012 by Arnecia McGlory

Fatigue can set in at any time; it's natural to feel tired. Perhaps you went to bed late, or your day at work was too long. Maybe you work full-time and go to night school.  After working long hours and dealing with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, our bodies get tired and we become sleepy. An off-duty Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office deputy was taken to the hospital Sunday after a motorcycle accident on Houston's south side.

According to Houston police, the FBCSO deputy was on a motorcycle working an extra job doing traffic for a funeral.

Wednesday, April 18, 2012 by Candice Robinson

I recently read a drunk driving story similar to a story in the FloridaWheelsinMotion.com course.  According to the New York Times, drunk driver, John Goodman, hit a vehicle, causing it to land in a drainage ditch. The driver of the vehicle suffered unconsciousness and eventually drowned.

As described in the Florida traffic school course, FloridaWheelsinMotion.com, Vanessa Montague's daughter, Mandy was a passenger of a vehicle with a drunk driver. The vehicle was involved in an accident...

Friday, April 13, 2012 by Vanessa Clement

Hollywood's Mayor Peter Bober didn't pay a fine, go to traffic school or have any points added to his driver's license for allegedly traveling 20 miles over the speed limit on Hollywood Boulevard in December. His speeding ticket was dismissed last month due to "a technical deficiency," said Andrew Coffey, Bober's attorney.

"This happens all the time," Coffey said. "This is exactly why you hire an attorney."

Bober was detected via radar in his 2009 BMW.

Now for those of us who aren't privileged...

Sweetest Little Courthouse in Hidalgo.

Wednesday, April 11, 2012 by Vanessa Clement

I stumbled across this article today and was left in awe.  According to The Monitor, Hidalgo Municipal Court Judge William C. Romo has been passing out ticket dismissals under the table.  In March 2011, Hidalgo police stopped an 18-year-old high school student for speeding — again.Officers knew him well. Since February 2010, police had stopped the student for speeding, ignoring stop signs and disregarding a red light.  But despite racking up seven traffic tickets. Mauricio Cepeda hadn’t paid a...

Distracted Driving.com

Wednesday, December 21, 2011 by Chris Caldwell
As a driver on the road , you face many distractions on the road. Some are caused by you , while others are caused by other driver's. When I took a Driver Safety course, I learned to look out for these hassles on the road.  You see people eating while driving on the road.  You see parents spending more time turned around focusing on their kids than focusing on the road. The biggest distraction I notice is people driving while talking on their cell phones.

Drivers who talk on their cell phones are...

The willingness of drivers to give way to pedestrians is very low. 3% of all the people injured in traffic crashes are pedestrians. Do you pass school buses?

Thursday, October 13, 2011 by Kent Bissell
I recently read an article about an undercover sting operation which took place in Florida and I must say, I was somewhat shocked.   Apparently, there is a real problem in Volusia County Florida when it comes to drivers passing school buses, enough of one, the Volusia County Sheriff's Department initiated a "special traffic enforcement" to catch people passing school buses?

It is illegal to pass a stopped school bus, this is something everyone should know!

In Florida, the statute is 316.172 and...Read More »
